Donahue Custom Marine is the creation of boat builder & enthusiast Danny Donahue.  Danny has been involved with the boating industry, in one way or another, for all of his life.  In 1998 he went to work for a prominent Southern California boat manufacturer where he got his "official" start in the boating industry. Danny worked for this company for approximately 5 years and was one of the head riggers.  While working for the company, he rigged all types of boats.  It was not uncommon for him to build everything from a jet boat to a 1,500h.p. cat.  

After graduating college, Danny left the company, but remained in the industry.  He specialized in freelance rigging and very high end projects.  The results were spectacular.  At the same time, Danny worked for a
company called Hogan Marine, Inc.  Hogan Marine imported replica Chris Craft boats from South East Asia and rigged them in the United States.  After the owner's passing in 2006, Danny branched out on his own.  

After looking around at various options, Danny located the molds for one of his dream boats... The Howard Custom Cruiser.  Very few boats have the history that the Custom Cruiser has.  It is an exceptional family boat as well as has the high performance capabilities to handle racing.  Danny realized that much of the "soul" of boating is passing away.  Very few companies still build day cruiser boats and those companies are difficult to locate.  Knowing this, Danny acquired the mold for the Custom Cruiser and the process began.  It is by far one of the most stylish and best handling boats on the market today.

To build the hulls for these boats, Danny looked no further than the Casillas Brothers at Genesis Boats.
Their gel coat work is second to none and their construction methods are top notch.  After talking with both Joel and Rudy Casillas, the first boat was placed in the mold.  The results were spectacular. The boat exceeded Danny's expectations in every way.

The combination of proper lamination, power, and rigging is essential to any boat.  Donahue Custom Marine offers, and recommends, both Mercury Power as well as custom power offered by Donahue Custom Power.
